10 days to Olympics 6832 days to payback of Big Lottery funds

The money to help pay for the Olympics and Paralympics that was taken out of the funds available through Big Lottery will be repaid from the mid 2020s. It should be all available again for voluntary groups by the end of the financial year 2030-31.

The charity Directory of Social Change has been campaigning to have the £425 millions returned to the sector immediately after the Games  - especially following recent announcements that there was still £476 millions unspent in the London Olympics' Contingency Fund.

But it seems that ministers have recently confirmed their original position - that repayment will only be made after disposal of land and buildings used for the Olympics are sold off. This won't start until the 2020s, and will take a decade to complete
