Consultation: Disability employment (by 17/10)

Have your say – specialist disability employment programmes

The Government’s latest consultation could be a particularly crucial one for disability groups. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is consulting on the report commissioned from Liz Sayce (Chief Executive of RADAR) into specialist disability employment programmes.

Getting in, staying in and staying on: disability employment support fit for the future  was published in June, and considers the range of activities designed to support disabled people to get into, and to stay in work. This is an area that disability voluntary organisations have shown a particular aptitude for in the past, and may it continue to provide the sector with opportunities for sustainable income.

But for disability organisations to be a major factor in delivering specialist disability employment programmes in the future, it is must be crucial that we all respond to this consultation call promptly and comprehensively.

This DWP consultation closes on the 17/10/11. MDF will produce further information on the issues over the next few weeks. If you are not considering making a response yourself, get in touch with us and we will incorporate into our reply any particular points you want to make.
